All Greene County nonprofit groups working to improve the overall wellbeing of county residents are reminded that Thursday, Feb. 14, at 4 pm is the deadline for grant applications to the Greene County Community Foundation for the 2019 grant cycle.
Applications must be submitted at the Journey Financial Office at Home State Bank by the deadline to be considered. Groups using the simplified application for grant requests of $3,000 or less can submit their applications via email to greeneccf@gmail.com by the same deadline.Proposed projects should do one of the following:
Support strong stable families and a solid beginning for children and youth; serve as a catalyst for youth and recreational activities; promote elder care, support services and an active senior population; promote the health, education and vitality of the community; address community needs for police, fire and emergency services; assist in developing quality jobs, tourism and economic development; or help make the community more attractive, livable and cohesive.
The Community Foundation will consider grant applications of $1,000 to $35,000. Applications are available at www.forgreenecounty.org
Larger grant requests should be directed to Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation at www.growgreenecounty.org.
The Community Foundation board will read and score grant applications Feb. 23. Grants will be awarded Monday, March 25, at 7 pm at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall in Jefferson.
